Shaving your legs with shaving gel or cream may irritate sensitive skin. Baby oil is a good alternative to traditional shaving products, suggests author Joey Green in "Supermarket Spa." It moisturizes sensitive skin and reduces the risk of breakouts and rashes related to shaving. Baby oil also allows the razor's blades to glide more easily over skin, preventing possible skin chafing, razor burn and cuts. It's generally fine for all skin types, but call your doctor if an irritation occurs.

Wash your hands with soap to clean off the oil so that you can grip the razor firmly. Guide the razor over your legs, shaving them as you normally would if using shaving cream or gel. If you hit a dry patch, stop and apply more baby oil to that area.
