Sharpie stains on teeth happen more often than you might think. Children and adolescents play games and accidents happen. Permanent marker stains on your skin take a lot of effort to remove. Because your teeth are made of porous material, solutions exist to get Sharpie off the enamel. Remember not to use any toxic materials. They can be accidentally swallowed by young children.

Purchase a nontoxic rubber eraser.

Rub the eraser on the affected teeth in a circular motion. This removes the exterior Sharpie stains from your teeth.

Rinse out your mouth with water to remove any rubber eraser residue.

Put a pea-sized amount of toothpaste on the head of a toothbrush.

Dip the toothpaste and head of toothbrush into baking soda. Toothpaste gel is not abrasive and only cleans surface stains. But baking soda is abrasive. It scrubs the outside of the tooth enamel to remove the stain.

Brush the affected teeth in a circular motion for three minutes.

Rinse the mouth out with water.

Repeat Steps 3 to 6 until the Sharpie stain is removed.

Warning

Do not use acetone or nail polish remover. They are toxic when ingested.
